Top 3 Things to Think About When Deciding Where to Have Your Photoshoot

This week’s blog is something that I see brides asking all over Facebook and Twitter: “My reception is HERE, where should I have our photoshoot?” This extremely loaded question can be answered in a multitude of ways, but we’re going to write this week’s blog about our Top 3 Things to Think About When Deciding Where to Have Your Photoshoot!

  1. Make the Weather a Factor: Not everyone likes taking photos in the middle of summer or winter, and if you’re one of these couples, then consider an indoor venue. Toronto and the GTA has so many great hidden gems that a lot of couples don’t know about, or their photographers aren’t sharing the wisdom. TIP: Figure out what type of look you want your photos to have and ask your photographer or wedding planner to give you their opinion.
  2. Be Prepared to Spend: A lot of indoor and outdoor locations do require a photo permit which can range anywhere from $50 to $300, so be prepared to spend the money to get the perfect location you want! If you prefer not spending a single penny, then understand that your photos may look like everyone else’s because it’s those locations photographers prefer to take their clients.
  3. Do Your Research: Cliché, I know, but don’t just take everyone’s word on it. Your photographer does know all the great spots, this is very true, but find other wedding photos online and see if it’s something you think works for you. Also, go to these places and picture yourself looking at photos of you in your outfit in 50 years. Does it still look great? If it does, then you’ve found your photo location! If not, keep looking!

Have a great day! XOXO
